| Members of the Academy |
Article 7 The Academy shall be composed of the following categories of members:
- sitting members
- corresponding members
- honorary members
Article 8 The sitting members and the corresponding members shall be Romanian citizens selected from among the personalities holding a scientific title, having a particular contribution to the technical and scientific field and having gained recognition due to their professional achievements and scientific works.
The sitting members shall as a rulee selected from among the corresponding members.
The founders entered in the constitution deed of the Academy shall be sitting members as of right.
Article 9 The honorary members may be
a/ Romanian as well as foreign personalities of high reputation and scientific authority, recognized unanimously.
b/ natural or legal persons, native or foreign, who have an indisputable moral authority and who lend a considerable financial support to the Academy.
Article 10 The largest number of sitting and corresponding members of the Academy shall
Reach 221. The distribution of this number on Divisions is annually established by the General Assembly, upon the proposals of the Presidium, which will take into consideration the ensuring of an equitable distribution according to age, for each Division. All the members of the Academy have the same rights irrespective of age, including the right to be elected in the governing bodies of the Academy or of its Divisions.
